This is a great recipe to use if you have leftovers that you need to use up with ready made bao buns.

How To Make Beef Bao Buns

Beef Bao Buns

Prep Time 5 mins
Cook Time 10 mins
Course Appetizer, Snack
Servings 4 People


  • ½ Cucumber
  • 3 Stalks Spring onions
  • 3 tbsp Sesame Oil 
  • 1 tbsp Minced Ginger
  • 5 tbsp Soy Sauce Add to suit your taste
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • ½ Slice Lime
  • 400 g Pulled Beef You can use an alternative protein if you prefer such as, Chicken, Lamb etc.
  • Boa Buns Portion approx. 2-3 person.


  • Finely chop up all the vegetable ingredients.
  • Heat up saucepan with sesame oil on medium heat and add pulled beef and spring onions and continue to sauté for another two minutes.
  • Add ginger and soy sauce to the beef and cook for another 1 minute.
  • Add the honey and continue to cook for another 2 minutes.
  • Warm up bao buns and plate up and squeeze a little bit of lime onto.
  • Yum!
